Founding Artistic Director
Siwa Mgoboza
Siwa Mgoboza is an visual artist, a curator, fine art educator and the founder of SIYABANGENA!. They trained at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, UCT. Mgoboza is an internationally acclaimed artist, their work is in both public and private collections. They are currently at the University of Witwatersrand, pursuing an MA in Fine Art with a PMA (Post Merit Award), where they also part-time lecture.
They have curated for SIYABANGENA!, The BMW Young Collectors Culture Fest, The Turbine Art Fair Grad Show, the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art (Washington, D.C.), NMAFA+ in Johannesburg, South Africa, The Moleksine Foundation AtWork Workshop in collaboration with Simon Njami (Con Hill) and Andrew Tshabangu (Soweto) and STILL ART.
Mgoboza serves as the Founding Director of STILL ART residency program and is the Associate Curator for the upcoming South African Pavilion for the Venice Biennale.

Reshavan Naicker
Reshavan Naicker is a multidisciplinary artist, photographer, and arts administrator dedicated to amplifying representation of, in their terms, the “Historically Othered”. They’ve been a Helen Frankenthaler Fellow, a Bennington College Museum Fellow, and are an alumnus of The Studio Museum in Harlem’s Museum Professionals Seminar.
In their professional capacity they’ve contributed to the Studio Museum in Harlem’s $175 million capital campaign by conducting research into prospective donors and grant programs; spearheaded the establishment of the Gordon Parks Foundation Steidl Library, a collection of 1,100 artist books by the boutique German publisher Gerhard Steidl; and contributed to two Steidl/Gordon Parks Foundation publications: Ralph Ellison: Photographer (2023) – the first book dedicated to Ellison's extensive work in the medium of photography – and Jamel Shabazz: Albums (2022), a book presenting, for the first time, Shabazz’s work from the 1970’s to ‘90’s.
